Consumers Crave Local: USA Made Brands
Made in the USA – That’s Made for Your Selection
There’s no denying that consumers love local. Even the National Confectioners Association reports products touting "USA Made" are seeing 9% growth. But it’s not just about local or national pride — consumers appreciate the benefits that come with supporting local, like job creation, a smaller carbon footprint, and a unique experience.
Hitting the sweet spot with USA-made brands can be tricky since many don’t advertise their origins directly on packaging. That’s where we come in. We’ve done the detective work for you and uncovered longtime USA-made candy brands your customers will love to discover — and proudly support.
Nassau Candy
Yes, many Nassau Candy creations are made right here in the USA*! Since 1987, our 200,000-square-foot factory in Hicksville, New York, has been crafting premium confections that have become household favorites.
If chocolate is what they’re craving, we’ve got them covered with our buttery sea salt caramels and rich chocolate nonpareils featuring our signature elegant curve. For sweet and salty fans, our gourmet chocolate-covered pretzels and pretzel rods are both beautiful and remarkably delectable. We also create chocolate-covered confections ranging from fruits to nuts and nearly every sweet you can imagine.
What really sets Nassau Candy apart? We’re one of the only U.S. manufacturers producing candy fruit slices and Jordan almonds — both requiring time-intensive, specialized processes.
Spangler
If your customers love hard candy, odds are they’ve enjoyed a Spangler treat — and may not even know it! Founded in 1906 in Bryan, Ohio, Spangler is behind long-lasting favorites like Bit-O-Honey, Dum Dums Lollipops, and Spangler Candy Canes. They’ve even partnered with big-name brands to reimagine the classics, like Starburst Pops — fruity lollipops filled with chewy Starburst candy.
Spangler also brought back beloved brands like Necco. After disappearing for a time, Necco Wafers and Sweethearts are back, delighting fans once again.
Goetze’s
For fans of chewy confections, Goetze’s is a must. Originally founded as the Baltimore Chewing Gum Company in 1895, Goetze’s dropped gum production long ago but has stuck around thanks to its iconic Caramel Creams and Cow Tales.
Caramel Creams — buttery caramel with a vanilla cream swirl — are individually wrapped for a sweet indulgence anytime. They also offer an Oreo Caramel Cream for chocolate lovers.
In 1984, Goetze’s launched Cow Tales, a slim stick version of their Caramel Creams made with real milk. Their Oreo Cow Tale is a delicious twist combining chewy caramel and cookie flavor.
American Licorice Company
Family-owned since 1914, the American Licorice Company has been creating beloved licorice treats for over a century. Though they began with black licorice, they struck gold with Red Vines — originally called Raspberry Vines — introduced in the 1950s.
When sour candy took off in the 1990s, American Licorice Company responded with Sour Punch Straws, followed by Sour Punch Bites, ensuring their place in the hearts (and mouths) of sour candy fans everywhere.
Boyer
Candy cup lovers, meet your match. Boyer, the USA manufacturer behind the first candy cup — the Mallow Cup — has been delighting fans with milk chocolate and fluffy marshmallow centers for decades.
Following the Mallow Cup’s success, Boyer introduced the Smoothie Cup, featuring peanut butter with a butterscotch coating. They also revived the iconic Clark Bar, reinventing it in a peanut butter cup filled with crunchy peanut butter and caramel pieces.
