The last few weeks of summer are upon us. Better make them count. Let’s count down summer by celebrating August food holidays!

Whether you’re partying solo or as a group, food holidays are a great way to make an ordinary day extraordinary!

Here’s some of our favorites to get your started.

August 3 – Watermelon Day

You don’t have to be a melon-are to celebrate the fruit synonymous with summer – the watermelon. It can be as simple as having a few slices of Nassau Candy Watermelon Fruit Slices.

When cooling down after being out in the hot summer sun, nothing is more refreshing than a watermelon flavored beverage. Let’s add a tangy twist like the sour flavors of Warheads Sour Watermelon Soda.

August 4 – Chocolate Chip Cookie Day

Chip, Chip – hooray for the chocolate speckled cookies we all love.

There’s nothing wrong with celebrating with a classic like thin, crisp buttery Tate’s Chocolate Chip Cookies.

For a crum-believable addition to a summer get-together, add Cookie Pop Chips Ahoy! Popcorn to the menu. Blended with real pieces of Chips Ahoy! cookies, Cookie Pop offers little poppable bites of cookie flavor.

August 6 – Root Beer Float Day

August’s the height of summer and there’s nothing more refreshing than a tangy, sweet root beer float. It’ll be extra cool if you use an old-fashioned soda like Boylan Root Beer.

A longtime tangy recipe made with pure cane sugar AND retro glass bottles, Boylan makes a root beer float “soda” inviting.

For those celebrating while on the go, then a nostalgic Root Beer Barrels hard candy is a great portable option.

August 10 – S’mores Day

Chocolate, graham crackers, AND marshmallows you say? We can see why the campfire favorite has its own day.

Summer’s too hot to celebrate fireside. Get those smores flavors in a delightful bark like Nassau Candy S’mores Bark, full of milk chocolate sprinkled with mini marshmallows and graham pieces.

If you’re looking to celebrate first thing, not to worry. There’s protein bars like One S’mores Bar that offer all the s’mores flavor while serving up to 20g protein and 1g sugar per bar.

August 14 – Creamsicle Day

Orange is always a-PEEL-ing, but add it to cream and we lose our rinds. There are many ways to celebrate Creamsicle day.

We can get that pop-sicle flavor with just the pop like Hank’s Orange Cream craft soda.

For a cool way to celebrate – minus the brain freeze, there Nassau Candy Creamsicle Coconut Slices . They offer layers of orange and cream flavor with just a hint of coconut all in a delightful chew.

August 19 – Hot & Spicy Day

It’s getting hot in here, and it’s not the temperature. Hot & Spicy Day is all about big, bold flavors.

Summertime IS a popular travel time. So let’s celebrate big flavors with a Caribbean snacking favorite Prime Planet Habanero Tostones. Green plantains pounded super thin and fried to a crisp crunch are a fun and flavorful alternative to traditional potato chips.

Don’t think you can ONLY celebrate spicy with savory snacks. Chocolate makes a great pairing to spicy flavors.

One of our favorite ways to celebrate is with Chuao Dark Chocolate Spicy Maya. Maya bars are a seductive blend of warm spicy cinnamon, hot pasilla chile, spicy cayenne and rich, smooth tangy dark chocolate. The perfect balance of sweet and spicy.

August 20 – Bacon Lovers Day

A day that celebrates bacon? Don’t have to ask us twice!

There are so many ways to celebrate the salty, crunchy meat that’s “bacon” us crazy!

You can pair the sweet and salty flavors with summertime candy favorite, salt water taffy like Taffy Town Maple Bacon Taffy.

For those that are a little more adventurous, they can try sipping the bacon flavors they love. Make it even more of an experience with the addition of chocolate found in Lester’s Fixins Bacon Chocolate Soda.

Eat a Peach Day – August 22

The name, Eat a Peach Day really leaves the celebrating up to interpretation.

You can go classic and enjoy the just-picked taste of summer peaches with every swipe of Bonne Maman Peach Preserves.

OR you can decide to ring in the day with gummy candy classic, Clever Candy Gummy Peach Rings.

Trail Mix Day – August 31

Time to mix it up with our favorite active outdoor snacking companion.

Even an iconic snack like trail mix can use a little refresh. Try trending Nassau Candy Cold Brew Espresso Mix

A blend of diced papayas, diced pineapples, dried cranberries, roasted unsalted almonds, dark chocolate espresso beans, dark chocolate raisins, and dark chocolate mini nonpareils offer a sweet and bold bite. It’s also ok to celebrate simply with Nassau Candy Raisin Nut Mix and its blend of raisins, sunflower seeds, blanched peanuts, walnuts, roasted cashews, and pumpkin seeds (pepitas

We know you’re all going to be sad to see summer go. So let’s let the summer go out with a bang. Celebrate food holidays as part of your get-togethers or as a way to spice things up on a summer workday.
