President’s Day is fast approaching and we have come to understand that the position of President of the United States of America is quite stressful. Good thing stressed spelled backwards is desserts!
It’s been revealed that long nights making laws on the Senate Floor are fueled by the Senate candy drawer, so we wondered what sort of sweets would presidents keep stashed in the Oval Office desk? Here are some of our presumptions.

Fall – it’s the only time of year where looking at leaves on trees is a legit pastime, and a lucrative one at that! In 2018, Vermont’s fall foliage visitors contributed $391 million to the state’s tax revenue and New Hampshire reported $318 million in direct travel-generated earnings from fall visitors. While these and the other New England states are known to attract fall foliage fanatics, every state has its own dedicated fall foliage destinations that are popular among tourists.
Looking at leaves makes customers hungry so they’re going to be in search of portable snacks that can come along for the ride. Tap into the foliage fever by creating a candy display full of products mimicking brilliant (and subtle) leaf colors.
Falling in love with the foliage display idea? While there is nothing wrong with the tried and true Halloween color palette, a fall display has much more staying power when you break free of the lime green, orange, black, and purple. We break down

Few people can resist the allure of delicious, brightly colored, uniquely shaped gummy candy. It’s a versatile year-round treat that can be shaped and colored into virtually anything you can dream up. Whether your customers prefer a soft chew, a longer-lasting chew or even an ‘elastic’ experience (as in Haribo Gold-Bears), the science behind the satisfying treat is basically the same – low-boiled sweets with a gelling agent (hydrocolloid).
Read on to discover more sweet science about each type of gummy and reasons to carry these top sellers. We’ve even rated them on their “meltability” factor (yes, we made up that phrase, but the science is real). A “Five Gummy Bear” rating = melts easily. A “Zero Gummy Bear” rating = really stands up to heat.

It’s August. The sun’s blazing, we’re still rockin’ the flip flops and shorts, but wondering when our favorite fall flavor, pumpkin spice, is returning. We can’t help it — the allure of seasonal or limited time flavors, like pumpkin spice is strong! So much so that leading pumpkin spice purveyors, Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts launched their iconic fall-flavored beverages in mid-August last year (August 24 and August 19 respectively to be exact)! This love of seasonal flavors and shapes goes for the confectionery space too. Candy sales for all holidays totaled $18.1 billion (that’s a combination of seasonal and everyday) and accounted for 62.6% sales (National Confectioners Association). Looks like limited time is a good lure.
Appeal to their love of seasonal with these must-have fall and winter flavors while learning ways to create that limited time feeling year-round.
