9 April Food Holidays That Don’t Involve a Bunny

No joke – April is full of food holidays! While we know about the bunny and the leavened bread, there are many MORE celebrations involving food that help us ring in spring.

Come on — time get out of our winter hibernation and break into spring with these top April food holidays.

April 5 — National Caramel Day

We might be biased, but a celebration of all things caramel isn’t a celebration if Nassau Candy’s Milk Chocolate Caramels aren’t invited. Their creamy, gooey, salty combination is always a delight, whether you’re celebrating alone or with friends.

For some added crunch, opt for Nassau Candy’s Dark Chocolate Almond Turtles, clusters of crunchy almonds, topped with buttery caramel and drenched in dark chocolate.

April 6 — National Caramel Popcorn Day

Continue your celebration of caramel into the 6th with National Caramel Popcorn Day! Here it’s less about ooey, gooey and more about the sweet and salty crunch.

You can’t go wrong celebrating with a nostalgic candy classic like Cracker Jack Caramel Coated Popcorn and Peanuts. Not only does Cracker Jack offer that sweet and salty pop we love, it also comes with a gift to get the party poppin’.

On Caramel Popcorn Day, it’s OK to bring chocolate to the party. We like Marich Dark Chocolate and Milk Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Popcorn. Fluffy popcorn coated in crunchy caramel and then drenched in creamy chocolate creates a symphony and textures and sweet and salty flavors.

April 12 — National Licorice Day

National Licorice Day is a black-tie affair. That’s if your tie is made of black licorice!

If you’re new to celebrating black licorice, Clever Candy Finnish Sweet Black Licorice is a good place to start. It’s like the little black dress of the licorice world, packing in all that intense spicy licorice flavor with a touch of sweetness.

Feeling a little fancy? Then opt for Gustav’s Licorice AllSorts. The English black licorice candies come decked out in their party finest in pinks, yellows and blues adding to the licorice fun.

April 14 — National Pecan Day

Those that prefer savory over sweet, then National Pecan Day will hit the spot. Nothing is more a savory snacking classic than munching on Junior Mammoth (aka whole) Raw Pecan Halves.

Remember — this is a celebration so it IS ok to incorporate exotic flavors like Sahale Glazed Valdosta Pecans Mix. A delightful assortment of roasted pecan, whole cranberries, and orange zest glazed with a pinch of black pepper creates the perfect balance between sweet and savory.

April 16 — Day of the Mushroom

Today’s a day to celebrate the shrooms that make us swoon!

Time to go really fancy and honor the day with Urbani Black Truffle & Mushrooms. A premium rough chop of black summer truffles and earthy mushrooms, paired with Grana Padano cheese, and extra virgin olive oil is great as a simple topping for pasta, or added to sauces for an earthy kick.

Celebrations are a time to have fun, so for a playful take on the Day of the Mushroom, try Super Mario Mushroom Sour Candies Tin. The metal tin shaped like the iconic mushroom from the popular Super Mario Games brings smiles, while the sour candies inside add a touch of tart sweetness to the day.

April 22 — National Jelly Bean Day

If you didn’t get your fill of jelly beans on Easter, now’s your chance!

A celebration is always better with a cocktail, so instead of classic Jelly beans, celebrate National Jelly Bean Day with the Jelly Belly® Cocktail Classics™ Jelly Bean Assortment. With flavors like Mimosa, Gin & Tonic, Pomegranate Cosmo, Moscow Mule, and Margarita, you’ll want to eat by the glassful!

For something a little more classic, then Jelly Belly’s Fabulous Five Box will win you the high fives. Inside you’ll find Jelly Belly’s top five bean mixes — Sunkist® Citrus Mix, Cold Stone Ice Cream Parlor Mix, Soda Pop Shoppe, Smoothie blend, and Cocktail Classics for a variety of ways to join in on the fun.

April 26 — National Pretzel Day

You’re “knot” alone in your devotion to these twisty, salty snacks.

While the classic plain salt pretzel is great for everyday, this is a celebration so we want bold flavors and toppings. Like the unique addition of dill found in Pop Daddy Dill Pickle Pretzels. The hand-crafted pretzels pop with lip smacking dill flavor.

When celebrating the sweeter side of pretzels, nothing’s better than Nancy Adams Dark Chocolate Assorted Nonpareil Seeds Premier Pretzels. The little sprinkles almost look like confetti while the creamy, rich dark chocolate is the perfect complement to the salty pretzel.

April 27 — National Gummi Bear Day

No candy is more iconic than the Gummy Bear. So much so that it HAD to have its own day.

If you prefer a single color theme to your celebration, there’s bold, vibrant Clever Candy Individual Color Bestie Bears. They come in classic flavors like cherry, orange, and grape, to more exotic like pineapple, mango, and grapefruit. The colors are just as vibrant, featuring bold shades of red, orange, green, blue, and purple to keep the party going.

You can also up the drama with a modern spin on the candy classic — Clever Candy 3D Gummy Chubby Bears. You and your guests will marvel at the exquisite 3D detail of each bear while enjoying rainbow of fruit flavors!

April 30 — National Raisin Day

Let’s “raisin” the roof for the dried fruit favorite – raisins!

Start by sweetening things up a bit with Nassau Candy Dark Chocolate Jumbo Sun Ripened Raisins.

Snack mixes are always a party favorite, so mix your raisins with sunflower seeds, peanuts, walnuts, roasted cashews, and pumpkin seeds (pepitas) found in Nassau Candy’s Raisin Nut Mix.

Spring is here and soon after come the cookouts and outdoor summer celebrations. Get up on your party game by celebrating some April Food holidays. Party with every “bunny” or just yourself. Whatever way you decide to get in on April food holidays one thing is for certain – they will be a hoppin’ good time.

Spring into action!
